Rep. Buerkle v. AG Holder on "Fast & Furious"

Read South of 5 and 20's post about

...voters in New York's 25th congressional district [who], as part of Obama's 2010 shellacking, booted radical leftist Dan Maffei and elected Auburn native Ann Marie Buerkle.  Talk about too close for comfort - it appeared Maffei had won that election until all the absentee ballots were counted.

Now it's 2012, and Pelosi lapdog Maffei, who voted for Obamacare, has been promised financial backing from the national Democrat organization to buy his way back to Washington...
Earlier today in DC:

Rep. Buerkle:

The Attorney General’s testimony today was disgraceful. His continued deflection of accountability and denial of any knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious is shameful. If he, as head of the Department of Justice, is not accountable, then who is? How bad does a situation have to be, how many people have to be killed, before Mr. Holder believes he should be held accountable? If he had no knowledge of the program that is under his purview, then he is grossly incompetent.

Throughout Congress’s investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, Attorney General Eric Holder has been consistent. He has been consistently callous toward the victim’s family, consistently inaccurate in the information he has provided to Congress, consistently not taken responsibility for his role, and or consistently dodged difficult questions. I once again demand his resignation, because whether he is accountable incompetent he has utterly failed in his responsibilities as Attorney General.

Chipping Away at ObamaCare

The U.S. House of Represenatives passed a repeal of the ObamaCare requirement that businesses file a 1099 form for any payments to corporations of $600 or more.  Local reps Richard Hanna and Ann Marie Buerkle supported the bill; Hanna couldn't vote on it because he is still recovering from his heart surgery.  The bill has already passed the Senate.

Buerkle said on her website, “This mandate is really indicative of a larger problem - the stranglehold regulations have on our society."  Compliance with this mandate would be a huge burden on small business.

There was some speculation at the time this was found in the ObamaCare bill that this was a prelude to a VAT tax, since the necessary reporting requirement would be similar.

Now on to the eliminating the rest of ObamaCare.
