The 23rd Psalm, KBV...

...the King Barry Version.

Since King David was mentioned a few posts down, it was time to call your attention to a new translation by the renowned Publius:

OBAMA is my nanny; I shall not question.  OBAMA maketh me to featherbed in green jobs: OBAMA leadeth me beside unconstitutional waters.

OBAMA restoreth my welfare checks: OBAMA leadeth me in the paths of government dependence for his Party's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Romney, I will fear no Republican: for OBAMA's lies are with me; Obamacare and thy unions bosses comfort me.

OBAMA preparest a fable before me in the presence of raptorous Republicans: thou president anointest thy own mouth with snake oil; thy kingly head is heavy with thy crown.

Surely welfare and free cell phones shall be given me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of OBAMA for ever.

Timely talk on women this Saturday, November 3rd, at Cornell

Did you know that there is a group of young conservative ladies at Cornell called the Network of Enlightened Women (NeW)? Well, there is.

This semester, NeW is bringing Christina Hoff Sommers to Cornell on Saturday, November 3rd, at 5:30pm in Hollis E. Cornell (HEC) auditorium in Goldwin Smith Hall. The title of Dr. Sommer's talk is "Education, the Sexes and Feminism: How the once-noble cause of feminism lost its way, and why it might take conservative women to get it back on track."

Sounds particularly timely in view of things like this, this, and this.

See you there.

Don't do this to your kids

So, listen to Professor Jacobson at Legal Insurrection and be sure to vote Kathy Hochul out and Chris Collins in in NY-27, and re-elect Ann Marie Buerkle in NY-24 and Tom Reed in NY-23....and definitely send Wendy Long to the US Senate as well.

Oh, yeah, and don't forget to vote for those other two guys—what were their names again?

People have flaws

Yes, we do.

But that does not give you an excuse to avoid getting "your butt to the polls" or to vote in a way that clearly doesn't pass the "moral stink test":

...Slavery is evil. The founders knew this. They could have proclaimed with righteous indignation, “Slavery is evil, and we refuse to enshrine it in our new Constitution.”

That, of course, would have been the end of the convention as the Southern states would have bolted immediately, and the young nation’s slide into chaos would have continued unabated.

Next Tuesday, some feel they face a similar dilemma. They see flaws in the Romney/Ryan ticket and wonder if they can, in good conscience, vote for flawed candidates.

Moral theology says yes...
Read the whole thing.  Pass it on.  And then go vote.

His ears must have been burning

Brett Baier's, I mean.  I no sooner said a couple of posts ago that his Benghazigate timeline was more than a couple of weeks old and that other things had been transpiring—hint, hint—than he updated it, in three parts.  Here you go, via Ace

RTFM

A common acronym in IT parlance.

And in other venues, like the State Department. Only there, slavish adherence to "the manual" leaves dead Americans in its wake.  At American Thinker:

Ms. Charlene Lamb from the State Department was identified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as the person most directly responsible for the rejection of multiple requests by the diplomatic mission in Libya for additional security personnel.  Quoting from the Committee transcript, Congressman Issa, Chairman of the Committee, during questioning said to Ms. Lamb,

ISSA: "Now the problem I have is that the State Department is basically saying Mr. Nordstrom didn't do his job, he didn't make a formal request for justification, the Ambassador didn't do his job, he didn't do a good enough case, and that is what you are standing behind here today in addition to saying "Well, there were five people there, therefore." An embassy, a compound owned by us and serving like a consulate was in fact breached less than 60 days before, approximately 60 days before the murder of the ambassador in that facility.  Isn't that true?"

LAMB: "Sir, we had the correct number of assets in Benghazi at the time of 9/11 for what had been agreed upon."

Issa's time had expired.  There were no follow up questions and there have been no requests for clarification from other sources.  The statement made by Ms. Lamb is quoted in most reports of the hearing and then ignored, but it is possibly the most revealing comment made by Ms. Lamb.  She had the correct number of assets in Benghazi...

...too many in decision making positions are incapable of making decisions.

But they have a manual they can follow regardless of circumstances.  CYA.

Treason any way you look at it

Democrat Pat Caddell's comments begin about the 1:15 mark. This is not manufactured outrage:

What's all the buzz about?  In case you haven't been paying attention, here you go:

That timeline first aired over two weeks ago—other things have transpired since—but you get the idea.

Personally? I think we may be looking at a "Fast and Furious" style gunrunning operation in Libya—wherein we give guns to people who really don't like us—or a bungled "kidnapping" of the ambassador in order to appear to "save" him in exchange for the blind sheik...immediately before Election Day and so that our Islamophilic administration can continue to kiss up to people who really don't like us:

And our esteemed Vice President (keeping it classy, as always) said to the father of one of the Navy SEALs killed in the attack on our Benghazi consulate (sovereign territory, I remind you), "Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?"

Bizarre and disgusting.

Have you seen much, or any, of this get covered by the MSM? Me neither. They're all complicit.  As Caddell pointed out (emphasis mine):
...This White House, this president, this vice president, the secretary of state...the leading mainstream media…they have become a threat, a fundamental threat to American democracy and the enemies of the American people.
And all this is with respect to only one aspect of our foreign policy.

What about domestic policy? Well, the President said at the end of the second debate
...I believe that the free enterprise system is the greatest engine of prosperity the world's ever known.

I believe in self-reliance and individual initiative and risk takers being rewarded...
Coulda fooled me. And I think there are some other folks who aren't fooled, either:
...The biggest dirty trick of all is fooling voters into thinking there is no difference. The huge voter surge in 2008 elected President Barack Obama, the first African American president. In the face of non-stop opposition, he pushed through:
+ Affordable Health Care..

...Many people wanted more. In 2010 they failed to turn out to vote. Tea Party Republicans won a sweep. President Obama---and all the rest of us--- have been fighting a defensive battle ever since...

...This is a fight by “We, the people!” against the secret minions of great wealth. The 99% of us are fighting back against the wealthy 1%...
These statements are from a GOTV flier published by—are you ready?—the Communist Party of the USA. For all intents and purposes, an Obama endorsement.

Can you imagine the CPUSA strongly favoring a genuine "free market guy," as the President has described himself numerous times? But the CPUSA wouldn't have any problem at all with some well-placed taqiyya that enabled a fellow traveler to attain a second term where he would have "more flexibility":

THROW. THEM. OUT.

VOTE ROMNEY-RYAN ON NOVEMBER 6TH.

Alternate universe

Do you feel like you're living in one?  I do.  So does Dorothy Rabinowitz at the WSJ:

In the 1967 film "A Guide for the Married Man," a husband, played by a peerless Walter Matthau, is given lessons in ways to cheat on his wife safely. The most essential rule: "Deny! Deny! Deny!"—no matter what. In an instructive scene, he's shown a wife undone by shock, and screaming, with reason: She has just walked in on her husband making love to a glamorous stranger.

"What are you doing," she wails, "who is that woman?"

"What woman, where?" the husband serenely counters, as he and the tart in question get out of bed and calmly dress.

So the scene proceeds, with the distraught wife pointing to the woman she clearly sees before her, while her husband, unruffled, continues to look blankly at her, asking, "What woman?" Confused by her spouse's unblinking assurance, she gives up. Two minutes later she's asking him what he'd like for dinner.

For much of the past four years, the Obama administration's propensity for asserting views of reality wildly at odds with those evident to most rational citizens has looked increasingly like a page from that film script.

All administrations conceal, falsify and tell lies—this is understood—but there's no missing the distinctive quality of the prevaricating issuing from the White House in these four years...

Such lies.  And here's the peerless Michael Ramirez's take:

As they say, OMG—Obama Must Go.

Obama & Co.'s campaign song

You lie like a priceless Persian rug on a rich man's floor
And you lie like a coon dog basking in the sunshine on my porch
Well, you lie like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store
It just comes way too natural to you
The way you lie...Well it's what you do, it's who you are
Click on those links—it's an education.  And there are many, many more examples...so many, it's nearly impossible to keep track of them all.

But—it is Friday night after all...time for a little music from The Band Perry.  I think we here at Redneck-Mansion-to-be and Kimberly Perry use the same interior designer:
