Fracking and outdoorsmen--December 8th talk in Cortland

From Dave Henderson's "Outdoors" column in today's Ithaca Journal:

If you are interested in how hydrofracking and gas drilling affects anglers and other outdoorsmen, consider spending Wednesday evening, Dec. 8, in Cortland with Chris Burger.

Burger, a member of the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition, co-founder and Chair Broome County Government Gas Drilling Education Committee Center for Civic Engagement, the NYS Sierra Club Gas Task Force, NYS Council of Churches Public Policy Commission, and the Southern Tier East Regional Development Strategy Committee, will be addressing the issues, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Como Inn in Cortland.

The Inn is located at 1307 East Lake Road, Cortland.

Burger's presentation on the Marcellus Shale Gas Play covers the history of how gas is formed and extracted, impacts, ways industry strives to protect the environment and problems it experiences, and how people react.

His appearance is being sponsored by the Tri-County Skaneateles Lake Pure Water Association. For information contact msmenapace@gmail.com.
